A Traditional Mix

Dec, 09 2024

Tamed with brandy, rum, and stout, enhanced by nutmeg and candied fruits, the emotion of the holiday finally sets on the island. To make this time even more memorable, the resort team is busy preparing for the season, as the island embrace a true celebration of traditions, togetherness, and joy at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu.

Offering an opportunity to connect with the team, the island welcomed the guest to be part of the cake mixing ceremony set surrounded by the lush greenery of the island.

Keeping alive the islands traditions, our culinary team prepared unique sweet delights, often with a tropical twist handpicked from the Chefs Garden. This season’s flaming Christmas Pudding as usual supplied from our local produce. This includes mixed dried fruit, apple, nuts, raisins, grapes, dates and others evoking the roots of the Maldives.

These ingredients are steeped in alcohols with strong flavours, such as rum and brandy, before being baked into a cake-like treat and preserved for at least a month. The pudding's strong sugar and alcohol content makes it last for a long time, ensuring the flavours to mature exquisitely and deepen during storage.

The Christmas puddings have been maturing over the past few weeks and will be ready to be enjoyed on 24th December at the annual Christmas Eve Gala Dinner.
