A celebration of ocean, earth and harmony

Whilst the Maldives is renowned for its endless beauty, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu offers an experience that feels wonderfully unique, untouched, and deeply serene. In contrast, Coco Bodu Hithi effortlessly captures the essence of intimacy and the timeless allure of island life. Each sanctuary feels quietly secluded, remaining in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings to offer a rare sense of stillness.

This June, the islands invite guests to reconnect with the natural heartbeat of island life through a thoughtfully curated programme of experiences in celebration of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day. Designed to spark awareness, appreciation, and joy, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu and Coco Bodu Hithi will come alive with immersive moments dedicated to sustainability, marine conservation, and a deeper connection to the ocean and surrounding environment, turning every day into a truly meaningful celebration.

For World Environment Day, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu invites guests to immerse themselves in the island’s natural splendour through inspiring moments of creativity, culture, and sustainability. From nature photography and tree-planting initiatives to mindful dining and insightful conversations led by our Resident Marine Educator, every experience fosters a deeper appreciation for biodiversity and the art of living in harmony with nature. Meanwhile, at Coco Bodu Hithi, the celebrations come alive with engaging children's activities, a house reef discovery snorkel, and a purposeful island clean-up, culminating in a vibrant, traditional boduberu night under the stars.

In honour of World Oceans Day, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu turns its embrace toward the marine world under the poignant theme, “Sustainable Fishing Means More.” Celebrating ocean stewardship and mindful living, the curated itinerary features a Nature Photography Competition, guest interviews, an educational Oceans Day presentation, and a powerful ghost net documentary screening. Guests are also invited to participate in a 'No Seafood' Lunch Day, guided manta ray snorkelling, therapeutic saltwater treatments at Coco Spa, community coral planting, and a captivating presentation by the Marine Educator and Resident Veterinarian. At Coco Bodu Hithi, marine conservation takes centre stage with coral planting, a dedicated kids' marine art class, guided house reef snorkelling, and an enlightening environmental presentation by the Marine Educator.

Together, these thoughtfully crafted experiences offer a rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect with the earth, and cultivate a profound understanding of our shared duty to protect the oceans for generations to come.
