A Maldives’ National Tourism Day Celebration

In commemoration of the Maldives’ National Tourism Day on the 3rd of October this year, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu embraced the occasion with a vibrant celebration that paid homage to the nation’s proud legacy of hospitality and natural beauty. The day unfolded in true island style, filled with flavour, tradition, and heartfelt moments that paid tribute to everything that makes the island so special.

As the sun set over the turquoise waters, guests gathered at Cowrie Restaurant for a special dinner inspired by the rich culinary traditions of the Maldives. The evening was a celebration of local flavours, with an exquisite menu crafted to highlight the best of Maldivian cuisine. From fragrant spices to freshly caught seafood, every dish offered a taste of the heritage that runs deep through our island.
Adding to the sensory journey, guests were invited to the beach for Saifodhu, a live cooking demonstration led by our talented team members. With the ocean breeze and golden light of sunset as a backdrop, the experience offered an authentic and interactive glimpse into the making of traditional Maldivian snacks, prepared fresh and served with pride.
As night fell, the sound of Boduberu drums echoed along the shoreline, drawing guests to Conch Bar Beach for a vibrant cultural performance. Led by our incredible female team members, the performance brought energy, colour, and movement to the celebration. Traditional dances, rhythmic drumming, and flowing costumes told stories of the Maldives’ rich heritage, leaving guests with a deeper appreciation for the culture and community spirit of these islands.
National Tourism Day at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu was more than just a celebration. It was a reminder of the soul of the Maldives, where every smile, every flavour, and every rhythm carried the legacy of a nation that welcomes the world with open arms as we remained reaffirm our commitment to preserving these traditions and sharing them with generations to come.
